[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] LX Holdings announced on the 12th that five subsidiaries, including Pantos, recently held individual extraordinary board meetings and approved executive appointments.


Choi Won-hyuk, CEO of Pantos, was promoted from Vice President to President, and Park Jong-il, CEO of LG MMA, was promoted from Executive Director to Vice President. President Choi was appointed as Chief Operating Officer (COO, Vice President) of Pantos in 2015 and was named Vice President and CEO in December of the same year. According to the company, under President Choi's leadership, Pantos has achieved rapid growth and solidified its position as a global integrated logistics company.


Vice President Park Jong-il was appointed CEO of LG MMA in December 2017 and has been managing the company since then. He is credited with leading the company’s growth by advancing the business structure, including elevating it to the number one domestic company in methyl methacrylate (MMA), an industrial material. In addition, seven new executives were appointed: Lee Ji-won, Senior Research Fellow at Silicon Works; Jo Jae-young (LG Hausys); Jin Hyuk (LG Sangsa); Kim Sung-wook (Pantos); Hwang Kyung-ha; Jeong Yong-ik (Silicon Works); and Hong Seung-beom (LX Holdings).


LX Holdings explained, "This personnel appointment is based on a strict meritocracy principle and is a strategic move to prepare for the future amid an increasingly uncertain market environment."
