Encouraging National Interest in the Culture of Organ Donation
On the 12th, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will hold a 'Life Sharing Uniform Campaign' during the K League professional soccer match between Suwon Samsung and Jeju United at Suwon World Cup Stadium. The campaign aims to raise public awareness about organ donation culture using the uniforms.
Players from each team will wear uniforms with the opposing team's uniform cut into a heart shape and attached to the chest area during the match. The Ministry will capture this on video, post it on its official social media channels, and present the life-sharing uniforms worn by the players through an event.
An official explained, “This was planned to increase the number of organ donation registrants, which decreased due to the spread of COVID-19.” The campaign is also supported by the Korea Professional Football League, Suwon Samsung, Jeju United, the National Organ, Tissue and Blood Management Service, and the Korea Organ and Tissue Donation Agency.
