Yangju-si Increases Fines for Illegal Parking in Children's Protection Zones... Up to 130,000 Won

[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province announced on the 11th that "the fines for illegal parking and stopping in school zones will be increased up to 130,000 KRW."

According to the city, applying the revised Road Traffic Act Enforcement Decree, fines for illegal parking and stopping in school zones will increase from 80,000 KRW to 120,000 KRW for passenger cars, and from 90,000 KRW to 130,000 KRW for vans.

Therefore, special caution is required from parents, academy vehicle drivers, and residents living near school zones.

The city will implement a resident reporting system for illegal parking and stopping through the "Safe Report" app to enhance enforcement effectiveness within school zones.

Additionally, unmanned enforcement cameras will be newly installed around kindergartens and elementary schools in the area, and mobile enforcement vehicles will be used to crack down on habitual illegal parking zones.
