Encouraging Small and Medium Entrepreneurs and Small Business Owners and Listening to Their On-site Voices

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] On the afternoon of the 12th, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon will hold a meeting with representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small business owners affiliated with the Korea Federation of SMEs at the Seoul City Hall conference room.
Mayor Oh plans to encourage SMEs and small business owners who are facing significant difficulties in management due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and listen to their on-site voices. On March 31st last month, during a town hall meeting with representatives of SMEs and small business owners from the Korea Federation of SMEs while he was a candidate, Mayor Oh promised to create opportunities for communication going forward.
The meeting will be attended by Kim Ki-moon, Chairman of the Korea Federation of SMEs; Park Jong-seok, Chairman of the Seoul SME Association; Hwang In-hwan, Vice Chairman of the Korea Federation of SMEs; as well as 14 representatives of SMEs and small business owners, including chairpersons of cooperatives within the Korea Federation of SMEs such as supermarkets and advertising production.
The Korea Federation of SMEs was established in May 1962 with the purpose of improving the economic status of SMEs and promoting balanced development of the national economy. It has 651 members including cooperatives and related organizations. Among them, 97 are members of the Seoul Regional Headquarters.
