Jaguar Land Rover, Range Rover 'Velar 2021 Model' Pre-Order Range Rover 'Velar 2021 Model'

[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Jaguar Land Rover Korea announced on the 11th that it will begin pre-orders ahead of the official launch of the 2021 Range Rover Velar, a luxury mid-size sport utility vehicle (SUV).

The new infotainment system (PIVI Pro), which is standard on all 2021 Range Rover Velar models, is designed with an intuitive and familiar interface similar to a smartphone, enhancing ease of operation.

It also features SOTA (Software Over The Air) capability, allowing convenient and easy remote updates of 16 individual modules including the engine, brakes, and power steering.

The 2021 Range Rover Velar P400 is the first to apply Land Rover’s newly developed Ingenium 3.0-liter inline 6 gasoline engine. The high-performance Range Rover Velar P400 delivers a maximum output of 400 horsepower and a peak torque of 56.1 kg·m, reaching 100 km/h from a standstill in 5.5 seconds.

Additionally, the company emphasized that cutting-edge technologies such as mild hybrid technology, twin turbochargers, and low-friction design provide superior performance and efficiency compared to previous engines.

Equipped with four-corner air suspension, it offers best-in-class ground clearance of up to 251 mm and a wading depth of 580 mm, demonstrating Land Rover’s legendary all-terrain driving capability even off-road.

The significantly enhanced product features are also notable. All trims of the 2021 Range Rover Velar come standard with an interior air quality sensor, ionizer, and PM 2.5 filter, allowing occupants to breathe comfortably and cleanly inside the vehicle even on days with severe fine dust.

Robin Colgan, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover Korea, said, “We are about to launch an upgraded model of the Velar that maximizes Range Rover’s simple and intuitive beauty. With advanced Land Rover functions, technology, enhanced product features, and reasonable pricing, customers will be able to experience the sophisticated driving unique to the more advanced Range Rover Velar.”

The 2021 Range Rover Velar is sold in three trims, with prices including a 5-year service plan package as follows: P250 R-Dynamic SE at 95.2 million KRW, P400 R-Dynamic SE at 109.2 million KRW, and P400 R-Dynamic HSE at 114.6 million KRW (after individual consumption tax reduction).
