Suncheon-si Operates 'Visiting Children's Museum' Program

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) will operate the "Visiting Children's Museum" program at the Ppurigipeunamu Museum in collaboration with the National Folk Museum from the 12th to the 14th.

The "Visiting Children's Museum" is an educational program where the National Folk Museum's exhibition bus is stationed at the Ppurigipeunamu Museum located in Nagan-myeon, introducing world dolls under the theme "The Mysterious Magic Room."

The education target is kindergartens within the jurisdiction, and applications for education have closed. Except for the education hours, the general public can also view the exhibition bus. The education sessions will be held five times in total: morning and afternoon on the 12th and 13th, and morning on the 14th. The program consists of tours of the Ppurigipeunamu Museum exhibition hall and the exhibition bus, as well as a worry doll-making experience.

The worry doll is an experiential program developed by the National Folk Museum, originating from Guatemalan dolls. Participants write their worries on a letter, place it in the doll's arms, and leave it by their bedside; the doll is said to take care of the worries overnight. It carries the hopeful meaning of shaking off small worries in the heart and growing brightly.

A city official said, "In celebration of Family Month, we hope families spend a rich time together at the Ppurigipeunamu Museum."

Meanwhile, following this first program operation, the second "Visiting Children's Museum" program is scheduled from September 8th to 10th.
