[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Seo Byung-soo, a member of the People Power Party, stated on the 10th, "There will be no adoption of the confirmation hearing report for Prime Minister nominee Kim Boo-kyum."

Seo, who serves as the chairman of the confirmation hearing committee for nominee Kim, declared at a press conference held at the National Assembly Communication Office that "the confirmation hearing report for nominee Kim will not be adopted today" and "there will be no meeting."

Seo said, "I have no intention of debating whether nominee Kim is suitable or not at this moment," adding, "Before considering Kim's qualifications, the issue that must be clarified first is whether there is a need to adopt the confirmation hearing report."

He mentioned, "President Moon, at the special meeting marking his 4th anniversary in office, asserted that the failure of Blue House personnel screening is not due to opposition from the opposition party," and added, "(This statement) supports the usual perception that those who have endured much during the hearings tend to perform better," further stating, "This means that the nominee will be appointed without the results of the confirmation hearing, and that such a formal adoption of the confirmation hearing report will not be done."

Seo also added during a meeting with reporters, "What the opposition party is saying reflects the will of the people," and "It seems they intend to appoint without recognizing the importance of this."

Regarding future responses, Seo said, "The government will likely request the confirmation hearing report again," and "In this process, we need to see once more how the Blue House and the ruling party view this confirmation hearing."
