ROTC Junganghoe 'Sharing Love Lunchbox Volunteer Activity'

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] The Korea ROTC Central Association (President Park Jin-seo) conducted a "Love Lunchbox Sharing Volunteer Activity" on the 6th at the Bangbae Senior Welfare Center in Seocho-gu, where the ROTC Central Association Hall is located, to celebrate Family Month in May and the 60th anniversary of the ROTC establishment.

This volunteer activity targeted 400 elderly people receiving free meals who have difficulty securing meals due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.

On that day, the ROTC Central Association, along with the ROTC Central Association Volunteer Group and the ROTC Seocho Branch executive team, packed lunchboxes and personally delivered them to 100 single elderly households in the Bangbae-dong area.

Additionally, 400 sets of side dishes (400 packs of 250g myeongranjeot and 400 sheets of gim) were delivered to four locations: Seocho-gu Yangjae, Bangbae, and Central Senior Welfare Centers, and Yangjae Comprehensive Social Welfare Center.

President Park Jin-seo of the Central Association said, "Our Korea ROTC Central Association aims to create the image of ROTC that is loyal to the country and serves the people. Every year at the end of the year, alumni and alumni companies sponsor welfare facilities and organizations through the 'ROTC Happiness Sharing Year-end Event,' and regularly conduct various volunteer activities such as briquette sharing, kimchi sharing, and blood donation sharing." He added, "Ahead of Parents' Day, we hope that the lunchboxes personally delivered by our ROTCians will bring warmth and hope to the lives of elderly people who are feeling even more lonely and struggling due to COVID-19."

Kim Seok-hyun, head of the ROTC Central Association Volunteer Group who planned this event, said, "To celebrate Family Month, we planned this event to practice love sharing with neighbors in need using the profits from direct transactions with alumni companies at the ROTC Happiness Mall. In February this year, we also sponsored 600 sets of walnut cookies to single elderly people during the Jeongwol Daeboreum (First Full Moon Festival)."
