Gangnam Library × Maeul Ieum School Village Community Collaboration Lecture


[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jung Soon-gyun) will conduct a community education program through the online video app Zoom from May to July, starting with Jeongdaun Library and ‘Library×Village Connection School Part 1: Art and Village.’


‘Library×Village Connection School’ is a collaborative project conducted by the district with Jeongdaun, Yeoksam, and Motgol Libraries, held three times every month on Fridays from 10 a.m. for two hours.


Through lectures with different themes and speakers, it aims to explain the roles of village communities in various aspects of daily life and help residents understand local autonomy.


Professor Jang Yoon-joo of Kyung Hee Cyber University will give the first lecture on the 7th under the theme ‘The Role of Art in the Era of Transition,’ followed by writer Cheon Woo-yeon’s ‘Traveling to World Art Villages’ on the 14th and Park Young-sook, director of Netinamu Library’s ‘Library, Dreaming of the Verbalization of Knowledge’ on the 21st.


Yeoksam Library will focus on ‘Part 2: Space and Village’ in June, starting with a lecture by writer Kim Jeong-hoo titled ‘Considering the City We Will Live In’ at 7 p.m. on the 4th. On the 11th, CEO Jung Soo-hyun of Nspace will present ‘Sharing Village Spaces,’ and on the 18th, CEO Lee Hee-kyung of Muntak Network will give ‘Sharing and Experimenting with Knowledge in Village Spaces’ starting at 10 a.m.


In July, Motgol Library will discuss ‘Part 3: Learning and Village.’ On the 2nd, Professor Kim Yong-ryeon of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies will lecture on ‘It Takes a Village to Raise a Child,’ followed by editor-in-chief Kim Hee-jin of Mideumsa’s ‘Care Humanities’ on the 9th, and director Ko Young-jik of the Korea Cultural Education Promotion Institute’s ‘Creating a Village Education Community Together’ on the 16th.
