[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] A police officer in his 30s who received the AstraZeneca (AZ) COVID-19 vaccine was diagnosed with a cerebral hemorrhage.
According to Lieutenant A, a 30-something officer affiliated with the Gangwon Provincial Police Agency, he received the AZ vaccine on the 29th of last month.
Lieutenant A was reported to have no underlying health conditions.
The day after vaccination, Lieutenant A experienced chills and other common side effects reported by vaccine recipients, and the following day he felt numbness and sensory decline in both thighs.
Five days after vaccination, on the 4th, he was diagnosed with cerebral hemorrhage in the left brain.
Lieutenant A is currently suffering from dizziness and numbness in his limbs, and is also experiencing symptoms of short-term memory loss.
After reporting the adverse reaction to health authorities, Lieutenant A is awaiting the results of a detailed brain examination.
The Chuncheon City health authorities stated, "The adverse reaction case has been reported to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, and we are continuously monitoring Lieutenant A's condition."
