[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Hapcheon-gun Education Development Committee, a non-profit corporation, held the 2021 Scholarship Certificate Award Ceremony and the 2nd Board of Directors meeting on the 7th at the large conference room on the 3rd floor of the county office, attended by Chairman Moon Jun-hee, 10 scholarship students of 2021, and 12 board members.
In 2021, the Hapcheon-gun Education Development Committee awarded scholarships totaling 133 million KRW to 147 scholarship students across six fields, including outstanding academic achievers entering local high schools.
At the scholarship certificate award ceremony held that day, in accordance with COVID-19 quarantine guidelines, 10 student representatives from each school attended the ceremony.
During the subsequent board meeting, six agenda items were reviewed and all approved as originally proposed, including the transition of the Hapcheon-gun Education Development Committee to a foundation corporation, feasibility study for establishing a foundation corporation, analysis of purpose projects, and research on development plans.
In his greeting, Chairman Moon Jun-hee stated, “To secure the legality of funding support from Hapcheon-gun, we will promote the transition to a foundation corporation that inherits the founding spirit of the Hapcheon-gun Education Development Committee as a non-profit corporation, and strive even harder for the educational development of Hapcheon-gun to nurture future talents.”
Meanwhile, the Hapcheon-gun Education Development Committee was established in 2001 to achieve educational development in Hapcheon through fostering local talents. It has been promoting projects such as operating Nammyunghak habits, providing scholarships, nurturing local talents, and improving educational conditions. Going forward, it is pursuing the transition to a foundation corporation to ensure lawful funding from local governments.
