[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Incheon City announced on the 7th that it has launched a service project to study the creation of a startup ecosystem and the operation plan for the startup village Dreamchon.
The service project aims to establish strategies for building a demand-centered startup support infrastructure and to prepare successful operation plans for the integrated work-residence startup support facility 'Startup Village Dreamchon (Yonghyeon-dong, Michuhol-gu),' which is scheduled to be completed in 2023. The project period is until October this year.
Through this service project, the city plans to investigate and analyze the current status of Incheon's startup ecosystem, establish a mid- to long-term roadmap for revitalizing the startup ecosystem, and develop facility and program operation plans for Startup Village Dreamchon.
In particular, to implement startup support policies that meet the needs of demanders, the city will collect voices from the field through various methods such as surveys and interviews and reflect them in the study.
Based on the results of the service project, the city intends to derive specific strategies and execution tasks to become a leading startup city, and prepare measures to ensure that Startup Village Dreamchon is stably established early and can serve as Incheon's startup hub.
An official from Incheon City stated, "As the importance of startups as a future growth engine is increasingly emphasized, we will utilize the results of the research project well to discover and nurture excellent startup companies," adding, "Furthermore, we will ensure that Startup Village Dreamchon takes root successfully and becomes a place where any entrepreneur wants to visit."
