Yeongam-gun Delivers Agricultural Produce Packages to Single-Parent Families

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Jeon Dong-pyeong) announced on the 7th that to commemorate Single-Parent Family Day on the 10th, from the 10th to the 14th, it will deliver consolation goods worth 55,000 won per household to 90 low-income single-parent families.

The consolation goods delivered to these low-income single-parent families are composed of agricultural products produced locally to promote the consumption of agricultural products, which has shrunk due to COVID-19, and to provide a small support to local farms facing difficulties.

Yeongam-gun supports low-income single-parent families with monthly living support funds, as well as child-rearing expenses, school supplies, and daily necessities for families with children under 18 years old. In particular, from May, child-rearing expenses are also provided to single-parent families receiving livelihood benefits and young single-parent families.

Governor Jeon Dong-pyeong stated, “Through this consolation event held in celebration of Single-Parent Family Day, we will raise community interest in marginalized neighbors and support local farms by delivering agricultural product packages, creating a Yeongam-gun where we live together.”
