[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] eBay Korea announced on the 7th that it will launch a new B2B exclusive membership service, ‘Smile Club Biz,’ on the 10th and will conduct a special sign-up promotion.
Smile Club Biz expands the existing premium membership Smile Club service, which was targeted at individual customers, to business members. It aims to support business activities by significantly increasing the discount benefits available to corporate members.
The exclusive benefits are abundant. Every month, three types of coupons are provided on Gmarket and Auction, offering discounts of up to 50,000 KRW, 30,000 KRW, and 10,000 KRW depending on the purchase amount. Additionally, a 50% discount coupon is offered once a week, and special deals for purchasing bulk products at low prices are also introduced. Benefits given to Smile Club individual customers, such as 2,000 KRW Smile Cash, 4% accumulation when paying with Smile Pay, 12% top-tier discount coupons, free Smile Delivery coupons provided once daily, shopping discounts, and delivery discounts, are also applied equally.
An opening promotion is also underway. The annual membership fee of 30,000 KRW is waived for the first year of subscription. Furthermore, new members receive a welcome gift that allows them to purchase essential business items such as one pack of branded tissue, one box of wet wipes, one box of coffee, and 30 packs of ramen for 100 KRW once.
An eBay Korea official said, “Through a business member-exclusive membership program offering various discount benefits, we will support the sales activities of small and medium-sized enterprises and self-employed individuals,” adding, “We plan to continuously introduce various services and programs so that corporate customers can continue their businesses without burden.”
