According to Gwangju City on the 6th, as of 2 p.m. that day, 18 people tested positive and were classified as Gwangju cases 2454 to 2471.

Among them, 13 individuals announced at 8 a.m. are students of Seongdeok High School in Gwangsan-gu.

After Gwangju case 2451, a first-year student at the high school, was confirmed positive the previous day, the spread within the school rapidly escalated.

Health authorities conducted comprehensive testing on 1,024 faculty and students. The number of confirmed cases related to Seongdeok High School is 14.

Of these, 13 are first-year high school students, and the remaining one is a third-year student preparing for exams.

Health authorities are conducting an on-site risk assessment at the high school today.

It has been revealed that some of the confirmed students visited nearby PC rooms, academies, and study rooms.

Health authorities plan to conduct tests on the staff of the facilities visited by the confirmed cases.

Four individuals, Gwangju cases 2467 and 2469 to 2471, are confirmed cases related to entertainment establishments in the Sangmu district of Seo-gu. They are entertainment establishment hostesses who had contact with Gwangju case 2446, an entertainment establishment worker confirmed positive the previous day.

The infection route of Gwangju case 2446 is under investigation.

Another new confirmed case, Gwangju 2468, is a symptomatic tester.

The cumulative number of confirmed cases in the region has reached 2,471.
