Dongguk University Holds Seminar on Suicide Awareness Improvement



[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Dongguk University will hold a seminar to improve awareness of suicide.


On the 7th at 2 PM, Dongguk University will conduct a seminar titled "Practical Measures to Improve Suicide Awareness in the Buddhist Community" at the Deokam Seminar Room in the Dongguk University Culture Hall. Based on the "Study on Improving Suicide Awareness in the Buddhist Community" presented by Shin Seong-hyun, Director of the Dongguk University Life and Death Culture Industry Research Institute, Seon-eop Sunim (Director of the Buddhist Counseling Development Center) will give a keynote presentation on "Practical Measures to Improve Suicide Awareness in the Buddhist Community."


The religious community, together with the Life Movement Solidarity formed by 28 civic groups emphasizing the value of life, declared March 25 as "Life Respect Day." Subsequently, the seven major religious denominations established a suicide prevention action plan centered on the Korean Religious Leaders Association.


The relay Life Movement Forum, involving religious groups, academic societies, and civic organizations, plans to hold a series of 10 consecutive seminars starting with this seminar. At the seminar venue, the pledge ceremony for respecting life, which began on the previous "Life Respect Day" with 30,000 participants, will continue alongside SNS pledges.
