‘Yeosu Gwangyang Port Innovation with the People’ National Public Proposal Contest Held

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Cha Min-sik, hereinafter referred to as the Authority) announced on the 6th that it will hold a national public proposal contest titled ‘Yeosu Gwangyang Port Innovation with the People’ until the 20th.

This public proposal contest was prepared to establish a bottom-up innovation plan reflecting the opinions of the public, lead port innovation, and realize changes that the public can feel.

Any citizen of the Republic of Korea can participate in this contest, which is divided into general proposals and KakaoTalk proposals.

The general proposal contest fields include proposals on 16 detailed tasks across four areas: ▲ definite achievement of social value ▲ strengthening innovative growth and revitalizing the economy ▲ sound institution management and enhancing public trust ▲ promotion of eight leading government innovation growth projects.

The KakaoTalk proposal contest fields include simple proposals for slogans: ▲ ‘Ethics’ for establishing a culture of integrity ▲ ‘Innovation’ for leading smart ports ▲ ‘Participation’ for changes driven by public involvement.

Those wishing to participate in the general proposal can submit their proposals through the Authority’s website (http://www.ygpa.or.kr) under Open Port - Public Proposal Board or via email (ygpa@ygpa.or.kr).

KakaoTalk proposals can be submitted by searching for ‘Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority Proposal Channel’ on KakaoTalk and sending a message through the chat function.

The Authority plans to award five outstanding general proposals and three KakaoTalk proposals respectively from the submissions, and will also provide small gifticons to participants other than the awardees.

For more details, please check the Authority’s website.

President Cha Min-sik said, “We are looking forward to receiving fresh ideas for the Authority’s innovation through this national public proposal contest,” and added, “We ask for the public’s great interest and participation.”
