Major Innovation Needed for Regime Change... Proposed as an Alternative 'Digital Political Reform'
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] On the 6th, Yoon Young-seok, a three-term member of the People Power Party representing Yangsan Gap, Gyeongnam, officially declared his candidacy for party leader, describing himself as "a pioneer of innovation and integration for regime change."
Yoon held a press conference at the National Assembly that morning and said, "For regime change next year and successful governance after regime change, the party leader must be someone with leadership capable of creating a new vision and alternatives for our party."
He explained, "With my diverse experience in government ministries, three-term career, and pragmatic politics focused on problem-solving, I am the most suitable candidate for the People Power Party leader."
Yoon emphasized that the party needs a complete transformation and great innovation for regime change. He said, "We are moving beyond industrialization to informatization, digitalization, and virtualization, but our party still largely clings to the past, basking in past glorious achievements and nostalgia," and expressed confidence that "Yoon Young-seok can bring about change."
As methods of reform, he proposed ▲building a digital platform party ▲a decision-making system utilizing blockchain and big data ▲forming special committees on real estate market normalization, youth unemployment, and the economy.
Right after the press conference, in a session with reporters, he elaborated on the direction of the digital platform party, saying, "Analog politics cannot capture the people's aspirations," and added, "We must fully open the path for citizens to directly participate in politics through digital technology."
