[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] Hyundai Construction announced on the 6th that it won the main prize at the ‘iF DESIGN AWARD 2021,’ one of the world’s top three design awards, for its fine dust reduction product ‘The Clean Zone’ from The H.

The ‘iF DESIGN AWARD’ is a global design competition held annually in Germany since 1953 and is considered one of the world’s top three design awards along with the ‘IDEA Design Award’ and the ‘Red Dot Award.’ This competition selects the best design products through high-level evaluation criteria including design innovation, user benefits, and social responsibility.

Hyundai Construction was honored as the only domestic construction company to win the main prize in this competition. ‘The Clean Zone’ has already received awards such as the U.S. Architizer A+ Award, the Korea Good Design (GD) Award, and the Korea Color Award.

‘The Clean Zone’ is a product combining an Air Washer and a Mist Cooling Fog system, specialized in reducing pollutants in the COVID-19 situation. When installed, it effectively removes and sterilizes pollutants remaining on the body before entering indoors after outdoor activities. The clean air from the Air Washer removes fine dust remaining on shoes or clothes and cleans pollutants on the hands.

In particular, the Mist Cooling Fog system was highly evaluated not only for helping to create a comfortable surrounding environment and effectively removing fine dust but also for its sensory design. Hyundai Construction plans to install ‘The Clean Zone’ in projects such as ‘The H Honor Hills,’ ‘The H La Class,’ and ‘The H Xi Gaepo.’

Recently, Hyundai Construction has received awards in domestic and international design competitions, including the ‘IDEA Design Award’ and the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA), gaining international recognition not only for construction capability but also in the design field.

A Hyundai Construction official said, "This award means that Hyundai Construction’s design capabilities are globally excellent," adding, "We will continue to introduce various products combining design and advanced technology based on customer priority."
