[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] President Moon Jae-in sent a letter of condolence regarding the collapse of the elevated railway section of Mexico City Metro Line 12.


Park Kyung-mi, spokesperson for the Blue House, stated on the 6th, "President Moon sent a letter of condolence to President Obrador of Mexico on the 5th."


On the 4th (local time), an elevated railway collapsed in Mexico City, the capital of Mexico, causing a subway to fall and resulting in numerous casualties. So far, the reported death toll is 24, with 79 injured.


In the letter of condolence, President Moon expressed, "It is regrettable that many lives and losses occurred due to this accident," offering condolences to the victims and their families and wishing for the speedy recovery of the injured. He also hoped for the swift resolution of the accident and conveyed his wish that "the victims, their families, and all the people of Mexico recover from the shock and sorrow as soon as possible."
