[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] STI, a semiconductor and display equipment specialist company, announced on the 6th that it has signed a supply contract for C.C.S.S. (Central Chemical Supply System) equipment with Micron Singapore.
The total order amount is 47.9 million Singapore dollars, which is approximately 40 billion Korean won. The supplied C.C.S.S. will be applied to Micron Singapore Fab1's PH2.
An STI official said, "Due to the recent global semiconductor supply shortage, investments by global semiconductor companies are continuing," and added, "We expect additional orders from various customers in the future due to the semiconductor supply shortage." He continued, "STI has recently secured orders for new semiconductor and display process equipment items such as phototrek system equipment and fluxless vacuum reflow, achieving various items and sales performance in the semiconductor and display fields, both front-end and back-end processes, domestically and internationally."
He explained, "As global semiconductor investments become visible due to the semiconductor shortage, we expect to benefit as well, and meanwhile, the C.C.S.S., which acts as a cash cow, is also steadily producing results."
STI's main products are C.C.S.S. and WET System. CCSS is a general utility equipment applied to semiconductor and display fabs. The WET System is a display process equipment used for etching, developing, and etching, and is considered one of the main pieces of equipment in the display process. Meanwhile, the company has completed the development of one of its new equipment, the inkjet OCR equipment, and is actively conducting sales activities, so it is expected that sales diversification will emerge in the future.
