[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) will hold a special integrity lecture for executive staff in May to encourage integrity practice, with executives leading by example as part of creating a clean organization.
This special integrity lecture for executives is conducted to cultivate the integrity mindset and strengthen the ethical awareness of executive staff, who are the core leaders of the organization, in order to nurture clean leaders and realize integrity practice from the top down.
The lecture will be held under the theme of "Understanding Integrity through Videos and Cases," led by a professional integrity education instructor. It will cover ▲ the value of integrity and desirable organizational culture ▲ key points of the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act through quizzes ▲ main contents and cases of the Public Officials' Code of Conduct ▲ understanding power harassment and eradication measures through cases, and is expected to last about two hours.
Previously, Seongbuk-gu issued two integrity advisories during vulnerable periods prone to improper solicitations and corruption, such as holidays, personnel seasons, and vacation seasons, to foster an atmosphere of integrity and anti-corruption. It has been raising awareness against any activities that could damage the value of integrity and taking steps to eradicate corruption.
Mayor Lee Seung-ro stated, “As much as the authority held by executive staff, heavy responsibility and morality are required. I hope this special lecture will serve as a foundation to improve the overall integrity awareness of our district, as the proverb says, ‘Clear water upstream makes clear water downstream,’ by having executive public officials pledge and practice integrity themselves.”
Seongbuk-gu is making its best efforts to create a clean public service culture and implement trusted transparent administration through measures such as selecting integrity slogans for all departments (dong) of the district office and issuing integrity advisories as part of the recent '2021 Comprehensive Plan for Integrity Improvement.'
