[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Dong-joo] On the 5th, members of the Korea Vegetarian Union held a performance at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul to raise awareness about the dangers of hamburger disease and to advocate for veganism. Hamburger disease is an illness that occurs in groups after consuming hamburgers containing undercooked patties contaminated with E. coli, with about 100 patients reported annually in South Korea alone.
