Busan City, 7 Organizations' Integrated Written Exam in First Half of Year Sees Average Competition Ratio of 63.6 to 1
Transit Corporation Attracts Over 13,000 Applicants for 160 Positions, Highest Record

Busan City (Mayor Park Hyung-jun) announced on the 4th that from April 27 to May 3, 2021, a total of 16,345 applicants applied for the integrated written exam for public institution employees in the first half of 2021, for 257 recruitment positions across seven institutions, resulting in an average competition rate of 63.6 to 1.
The competition rates by institution are as follows: ▲Busan Transportation Corporation 85.96 to 1 (160 positions, 13,754 applicants) ▲Busan Urban Corporation 42.47 to 1 (15 positions, 637 applicants) ▲Busan Facilities Corporation 26.57 to 1 (23 positions, 611 applicants) ▲Busan Environment Corporation 19.39 to 1 (51 positions, 989 applicants) ▲Busan Medical Center 72 to 1 (3 positions, 216 applicants) ▲Busan Technopark 9.33 to 1 (3 positions, 28 applicants) ▲Busan Design Promotion Agency 55 to 1 (2 positions, 110 applicants).
Busan Transportation Corporation showed the highest competition rate with 13,754 applicants for 160 positions, and among them, the operations staff (general) position, which selects 33 people, received 7,344 applications, marking an all-time high competition rate of 222.55 to 1.
The integrated written exam for public institution employees in the first half will be held on the 29th of this month, and detailed information such as the exam locations can be confirmed on the 20th through the Busan City integrated recruitment website and the respective public institution websites.
An online personality test will be conducted for those who pass the written exam, followed by document screening, interviews, and final selection conducted by each public institution.
Heo Nam-sik, Busan City Finance Officer, said, “As many applicants applied for the first integrated written exam for public institutions, we will create a safe exam environment,” and added, “We hope applicants will strictly follow quarantine guidelines and cooperate in creating a safe exam environment.”
