[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] It was recently revealed that aspiring actress Jo Hana, who had appeared on a cable channel variety show in the past, took an extreme step after falling victim to a voice phishing scam.


On the 15th, a close acquaintance of Jo posted on their Instagram account, "A small and kind child who dreamed of becoming an actress has become a small flower bud and ascended to the sky at the young age of just 23," mourning Jo.


They wrote, "She lost less than 2 million won to a voice phishing scam and suffered alone before choosing a life without pain," adding, "As always, the devils will live as if nothing happened. Still, we must fight until the end. That is the qualification to bear the name human," they said.


Previously, Jo appeared on the 2019 cable channel KBS Joy variety program 'Ask Anything' (Mueosideun Mureobosal). The show was conducted in a format where viewers directly appeared to consult about their concerns.

On the show, Jo confessed that she was unable to attend school because her birth was not registered due to her parents' divorce during her childhood, and that at 19, she went to a lawyer on her own to register her birth.


She also revealed that after obtaining her elementary, middle, and high school equivalency diplomas through the qualification exam, she was pursuing her dream of becoming an actress, receiving much support from many people.


After the broadcast, Jo communicated with fans through her YouTube channel. Following the news of her death, all her YouTube videos have been set to private.
