Intuitive Design Praised for Enhanced User Convenience
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Coway (CEOs Lee Hae-seon and Seo Jang-won) announced on the 23rd that it received the main prize in the product design category at the '2021 Red Dot Design Award,' recognizing its global design innovation.
The Red Dot Design Award is a prestigious international design competition organized by the Design Center of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Along with Germany's iF, the United States' IDEA, and Japan's Good Design Award, it is considered one of the world's four major design awards. Coway has won the Red Dot Design Award for 15 consecutive years from 2007 to this year.
This year's winning works include two concept products: the 'Undersink Water Purifier' and the 'Interior Air Purifier.' The Undersink Water Purifier was designed reflecting consumers' lifestyles who want to use kitchen space more efficiently. The Interior Air Purifier received excellent evaluations as it can be styled as an interior accessory reminiscent of furniture or picture frames, moving away from the typical image of home appliances.
Song Hyun-joo, head of Coway's Product Center, said, "We are striving to create a healthy and convenient living environment based on user-centered intuitive design," adding, "We will enhance the dignity of spaces with customized designs that delicately reflect lifestyles."
