‘Drug addict’ father stabbed mother 8 times... 50s man went to ex-wife’s place, caused chaos with a weapon demanding to see daughter Busan Jungbu Police Station.


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] A ‘makjang’ man in his 50s who stabbed his ex-wife multiple times with a weapon after demanding to see his daughter following drug use was arrested by the police.


On the 22nd, Busan Jungbu Police Station announced that they apprehended Mr. A at the scene on charges of attempted murder and others for stabbing his ex-wife multiple times with a weapon while under the influence of methamphetamine, and plan to request an arrest warrant.


Mr. A visited Mr. B’s house in Jung-gu, where his ex-wife lives, at around 7:40 p.m. on the 21st. He is accused of stabbing Mr. B eight times in the shoulder and knee areas during an argument.


According to the police, Mr. A committed the crime after demanding to see his daughter, who recently gave birth, and being refused by Mr. B.


The police, who responded to the report, arrested Mr. A at the scene as a suspect caught in the act. Mr. B, who was bleeding and collapsed, was immediately transported to the hospital. It is reported that his life is not in danger.


The police stated that Mr. A tested positive in a preliminary drug test to confirm drug use.


Mr. A reportedly stated, “I wanted to see my daughter, but I was told I couldn’t, and the house was a mess, so I swung the weapon in a fit of anger.”


The Jungbu Police Station plans to conduct further investigations into Mr. A’s drug use and other substance intake, and to ascertain the exact circumstances of the incident once Mr. B’s treatment is completed.
