Mapo-gu Expands 2021 'National Application Real-Name System'... Why?

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Mapo-gu (Mayor Yoo Dong-gyun) will expand the year-round acceptance of projects eligible for the 2021 'National Request Real-Name System' to ensure that policies and projects desired by residents are transparently disclosed.

The National Request Real-Name System is a system that directly reflects public demand when selecting projects for policy real-name disclosure, allowing projects desired by the public to be disclosed.

It can be regarded as a measure to revitalize the 'Policy Real-Name System,' which discloses the real names of key policy contents and related persons to enhance policy transparency and accountability, as well as a channel for public participation.

In particular, starting this year, the district has changed the acceptance method from a limited period to year-round continuous acceptance to promote the activation of the system's operation.

Not only Mapo-gu residents but anyone interested in Mapo-gu can apply for disclosure of district policies. Applicants can download the form from the Mapo-gu Office website, fill in the policy name and reasons for application, and submit it in person, by mail, or by email. However, cases that fall under non-disclosure reasons according to the Information Disclosure Act, simple complaints that differ from the purpose of the Policy Real-Name System, unclear or unidentifiable application contents, etc., are excluded from disclosure.

Projects applied through the National Request Real-Name System will be reviewed and resolved by the Policy Real-Name System Deliberation Committee and are scheduled to be disclosed in the Policy Real-Name System section on the district website in June.

Meanwhile, since 2013, the district has selected and disclosed over 140 key management projects under the Policy Real-Name System on its website.

Yoo Dong-gyun, Mayor of Mapo-gu, said, “Through the operation of the Policy Real-Name System, we will strengthen residents' right to know and secure policy transparency,” and added, “We ask for residents' great interest and active participation so that policies that should be disclosed through the Policy Real-Name System can be made public.”
