Incheon Motel Brain Hemorrhage Girl's Mother... Prosecution Seeks 10-Month Prison Sentence for Fraud Charges

[Asia Economy Reporter Baek Kyunghwan] The prosecution has demanded a prison sentence for the biological mother of a 2-month-old infant girl who fell into a critical condition due to abuse by her father at a motel in Incheon.

At the first trial held on the 21st under the presiding of Judge Kim Eun-yeop of the Incheon District Court Criminal Division 1, the prosecution requested a 10-month prison sentence for A (22), who was indicted on charges of fraud while in custody.

Initially, it was reported that A had conflicts with the landlord over the deposit, but it was later revealed that she was sued for fraud for borrowing money from a friend and failing to repay it properly.

On this day, the prosecution stated, "The defendant borrowed about 11 million won in total over 47 occasions from the victim, including 100,000 won on December 8, 2018, and did not repay it by January 3, 2019," and based on the duration and amount of the crime, they made the sentencing request.

Earlier, A was wanted on fraud charges and was arrested by the police on the 6th of this month. Subsequently, on the 13th, B, the 2-month-old daughter, was found in a motel in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, showing symptoms of cerebral hemorrhage and in cardiac arrest due to abuse by her biological father. The father confessed during a recent police investigation, saying, "I was angry and threw my daughter onto the table."
