Professor Oh Byung-wook of Gwangju University Participates as Invited Artist for the 20th Anniversary of Korea Craft Museum Opening

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Professor Oh Byung-wook of the Department of Fashion and Jewelry at Gwangju University will participate as an invited artist in the 20th anniversary special exhibition held from the 23rd to June 20th at Gallery 6 on the 3rd floor of Building C, Cheongju Korea Craft Museum Cultural Manufacturing Center.

In this invitational exhibition, Professor Oh will display a total of 45 works including metal crafts, jewelry, and tableware that he has created so far.

Under the theme "Into the New World: UTOPIA," this special exhibition will feature 20 artists representing Korean crafts, including Professor Oh, showcasing a variety of works.

The exhibition theme, "Into the New World: UTOPIA," does not refer to an unattainable ideal world but rather means that it simply does not exist "here and now." The artists aim to discuss the value of Korean crafts and the ideal future of crafts.

Meanwhile, Professor Oh majored in Metal Craft Design at Seoul National University of Science and Technology and Jewelry Design at Indiana University in the United States. He has been actively producing works, including being invited twice to the Cheongju International Craft Biennale International Invitational Exhibition, holding three solo exhibitions, and participating in over 200 group exhibitions.
