Operation of K-Wellness Food & Tourism Fair Promotion Booth on 20th-21st
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam, participated in the ‘2021 K-Wellness Food & Tourism Fair’ held at the Seoul AT Center from the 20th to the 21st and received the 2021 K-Wellness Brand Award.
This expo is one of the ‘K-Wellness’ series exhibitions themed on Well-being, Happiness, and Fitness, promoting nationwide agricultural, livestock, and marine products as well as regional tourism with the addition of K-Quarantine, hoping to overcome COVID-19.
General visitors were minimized, and only invited stakeholders such as press groups/buyers, power YouTubers, and show hosts participated, making it an on/offline presentation where brands from local governments nationwide could be seen in one place.
The county was already selected last year as a ‘2020 Wellness Tourism Destination’ jointly promoted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization, with ‘Odosan Healing Forest’ being chosen.
Wellness tourism destinations refer to tourist spots that provide programs or services centered on four themes: ▲ Oriental medicine ▲ Healing/Meditation ▲ Beauty/Spa ▲ Nature/Forest healing, which help promote mental and physical health.
Hwangmaesan County Park, selected as one of Korea’s Top 100 Tourist Attractions, is a famous mountain boasting seasonal beauty with azaleas in spring, green plains in summer, silver grass in autumn, and snow flowers in winter, recently gaining attention as a non-face-to-face safe tourism destination.
Local foods such as Hwangto Hanwoo beef and pork soup are affordable and easily accessible dishes that captivate tourists’ palates.
Moon Jun-hee, Mayor of Hapcheon-gun, said, “I want to share the joy of Hapcheon, a safe, clean, and healing travel destination, receiving the K-Wellness Award with the residents. Although the entire nation is exhausted from COVID-19, I hope this opportunity will allow people to boost their immunity through local foods and have healing time through tourism.”
