Imsil-gun Forms and Operates Special Task Force for Environmental Pollution Violations

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 21st that it is intensively cracking down on environmental pollution activities such as illegal waste incineration to reduce fine dust emissions and create a clean living environment.

The county has organized and operated a special task force for environmental pollution control, focusing on cracking down on illegal incineration of household waste, open burning of agricultural by-products and waste wood, among other targets.

The county has been making every effort to prevent improper waste disposal through publicity and guidance to prevent illegal waste incineration and dumping.

In particular, it plans to improve this through strong year-round responses to eradicate environmental pollution activities.

To this end, 43 fixed unmanned surveillance cameras and 12 mobile unmanned surveillance cameras have been installed and operated in vulnerable areas where illegal dumping and incineration of waste frequently occur.

This month, seven cases were detected, including three cases of illegal incineration and four cases of illegal dumping, and fines were imposed, with orders issued to voluntarily collect and properly dispose of the waste.

County Governor Sim Min said, “Illegal incineration and dumping, as well as other environmental pollution activities, are continuously occurring,” adding, “We will strive to eradicate environmental pollution activities through year-round intensive crackdowns and contribute to fostering a proper environmental awareness.”
