Current Trends in the Construction Industry Seen Through Olymp Planet Virtual Reality Model House

Current Trends in the Construction Industry Seen Through Olymp Planet Virtual Reality Model House ZIPVIEW (Jipview)

A new era has dawned where consumers can safely experience more information and make more rational decisions through online virtual reality, breaking away from the traditional system of viewing and transacting homes only through offline model houses.

In line with recent attempts at digital transformation in traditional industries and the current environment where offline activities are restricted due to COVID-19, the construction and real estate industries are also trying to transition to a metaverse environment through advanced technologies based on Virtual Reality.

OlimPlanet has grown into a leading virtual reality company in Korea by providing immersive model homes through its virtual housing exhibition solution, JipView, allowing consumers to experience various real estate products such as apartments, officetels, and commercial spaces in online environments like PC and mobile. The service also enables users to experience building exteriors, communities, and landscaping, satisfying both developers and consumers.

Building on this, OlimPlanet is preparing to launch various services by integrating a metaverse environment specialized for the construction and real estate market, and plans to create a new digital real estate culture through lively sales guidance using AI avatars.

Ho-Jun Ahn, Director of Business Strategy at OlimPlanet, stated, “We plan to continue fostering a new digital culture where reality and virtuality merge in the metaverse era through immersive solutions,” adding, “We will strengthen competitiveness by integrating advanced IT technologies into the construction and sales industries and establish ourselves as a leading company in the metaverse within the B2B sector.”

In particular, OlimPlanet is pioneering a new culture in the construction and real estate industries by combining its accumulated technological capabilities with the trending metaverse environment. The virtual housing exhibition hall to be introduced at Posco Construction’s Songdo ArcBay project departs from the traditional method where consumers accessed sales information through websites, offering an industry-first service that allows users to experience sales information with a vivid feeling as if they had actually visited the model house from the moment they access the website.

Upon entering the Songdo ArcBay virtual housing exhibition hall, users can experience real estate information through virtual reality, including complex introductions, location tours, interior tours, and consultation reservations. This will provide an enhanced customer experience through 3D VR tours, covering previously unavailable information such as unbuilt details and various community facilities within the complex.

Hyun-Ji Lim, Sales Manager at Posco Construction, said, “As the digital environment rapidly changes, the provision of 3D immersive virtual housing exhibition halls and the increase in cases where sales information is provided online highlight the necessity of immersive technology. The fusion of the real estate industry and IT technology has become an inevitable trend.” She added, “As consumer needs and trends evolve, we plan to strengthen competitiveness by introducing the industry’s first new real estate service to enhance new customer experiences and touchpoints.”
