According to Gwangju City on the 21st, there were 17 new confirmed cases as of the previous day, classified as Gwangju 2300 to 2316.

Due to the cluster infection originating from the Nam-gu daycare center that began the day before, Gwangju cases 2300, 2308 to 2313, and 2316 were identified as related confirmed cases.

After twin sisters attending the daycare center, Gwangju 2300 and 2308, tested positive, the quarantine authorities conducted a full investigation of 73 teachers and children at the daycare center.

One confirmed teacher was found to have recently visited a large church, raising the possibility of secondary infections.

Teachers and children who tested negative were placed under self-quarantine.

The quarantine authorities are identifying additional contacts based on the movement paths of the confirmed cases.

On the previous day, with the addition of Gwangju cases 2302 and 2303 related to a social gathering in Damyang, the cumulative number of confirmed cases increased to 45.

The authorities stated that the two newly added cases developed symptoms while under self-quarantine.

Gwangju cases 2301, 2304, and 2306 were registered as contacts of confirmed cases from Gwangju or other regions.

Gwangju 2301 was a contact of Gwangju 2286, who tested positive on the 18th. The infection route of Gwangju 2286 is under investigation.

Gwangju 2304 was found to have contacted Dobong-gu case 1086, whose infection source is also under investigation.

Gwangju 2306’s infection route is linked to Jeonnam case 1008.
