Samsung to Add Another Galaxy M Series? "Developing Large-Capacity Budget Phone 'Galaxy M32'"

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Samsung Electronics, which is strengthening its mid-to-low price lineup, is reportedly developing a large-capacity budget smartphone.

On the 19th (local time), according to the US IT specialized media SamMobile, Samsung Electronics is said to be developing a large-capacity mid-range smartphone called the 'Galaxy M32.'

SamMobile reported that Samsung Electronics received certification for a new battery (model number EB-BM325ABN) from DEKRA, and the battery, with a capacity of 5830 milliampere-hours (mAh), is expected to be applied to the Galaxy M32. The Galaxy M32, reportedly being developed based on the Galaxy A32 released earlier this year, is expected to be launched with slightly modified styling from the Galaxy A32 model and equipped with a higher-capacity battery than the 5000mAh battery applied to the Galaxy A32.

The specifications of the Galaxy M32 are generally expected to be similar to those of the Galaxy A32. SamMobile anticipated that it would feature a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with a 90 Hertz (Hz) refresh rate and a MediaTek Helio G80 processor. Additionally, it is expected to have a quad camera setup on the rear, including a 64-megapixel main camera, 8-megapixel, 5-megapixel, and 5-megapixel cameras, as well as a 20-megapixel front camera. It will be an LTE phone equipped with Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, a USB Type-C port, and a headphone jack.

Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics UK announced on the 19th (local time) that it will launch the LTE-only 'Galaxy M12,' which was first released in overseas markets such as Vietnam and India in February, in the UK on the 30th. According to the announcement, the Galaxy M12 will feature a 6.5-inch Infinity-V display, an Exynos 850 chipset, a 5000mAh battery capacity, fast charging, and a quad camera setup. The colors will be available in black, light blue, and green, with a price of 159 pounds (approximately 247,000 KRW).

The Galaxy M12 is also expected to be introduced in the Korean market in the future. It is currently reported that the specific release date and price are being coordinated, with the price likely to be in the 100,000 to 200,000 KRW range.
