[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Sumi] On the 18th, the police announced that they received a report about finding checks worth 120 million won and a bankbook at a movie theater and are currently looking for the owner.

According to the police and industry sources, around 1 a.m. that day, a report was received at Lotte Cinema World Tower branch in Songpa-gu stating that "12 checks worth 10 million won each and a bankbook were found." It is known that the discovery was made by a cleaning staff member, Mr. A, at the movie theater.

The responding police confirmed that there were 12 checks between the pages of the bankbook and immediately registered the items in the lost property program (LOST 112). A police official stated, "The owner of the checks has not yet reported the loss to the police," and added, "Once bank operations resume normally tomorrow, we plan to find the owner and hand over the items."

Under the current Lost Property Act, if the finder reports the lost items to the police, the finder can receive a reward ranging from 5% to 20% of the value of the lost property through consultation with the owner.
