[Photo] Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, Attends Nowon-gu Children and Youth Council and Participation Committee Appointment Ceremony

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] On the 17th at 10:30 AM, Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, attended the 2021 Nowon-gu Children and Youth Council and Participation Committee Appointment Ceremony held at the Nowon-gu Office Small Auditorium.

The event proceeded in the order of opening, awarding of appointment letters, greetings, commemorative photo, and explanation of major activities.

First, 56 children and youth under the age of 18 residing or attending school in the district were appointed as child council members. They are expected to contribute to enhancing the effectiveness of Nowon-gu's children and youth policies and promoting their rights through participation in council proceedings to improve democratic citizenship capabilities and activities such as proposing ordinances.

The Children and Youth Participation Committee appointed 19 members under the age of 24. They will perform roles such as collecting opinions related to children and youth, proposing policies, and promoting campaigns.

Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, said, “The activities of the Children and Youth Council and Participation Committee provide a great opportunity for children and youth to directly suggest and promote policies related to themselves,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to create a child-friendly city Nowon that listens to the voices of children.”
