Hanul Nuclear Power Plant Headquarters Provides 'Fertilizer Support' to Farmers Around the Power Plant Again This Year

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. Hanul Nuclear Power Headquarters (Head Park Beom-su) held a fertilizer delivery ceremony on the 16th at Bukmyeon Agricultural Cooperative and Uljin Agricultural Cooperative for farmers in the vicinity of the power plant.

The fertilizer support project for farmers in the vicinity of the power plant is a project by Hanul Headquarters to support organic and compound fertilizers necessary for crop cultivation by local farmers in surrounding areas to revitalize the local economy through increased farm income. Since it first started in 2018, it has supported a total of 170,000 bags of fertilizer worth 1 billion KRW (including 380 million KRW for this year) to farmers residing in Bukmyeon, Jukbyeon-myeon, and Uljin-eup.

The organic and compound fertilizers supported by Hanul Nuclear Power Plant are evaluated to greatly contribute to improving soil fertility, resistance to pests and diseases, helping produce high-quality agricultural products, enhancing the fertility of aging farmland, and alleviating the economic burden on farmers.

Ryu Myung-seok, Director of External Cooperation at Hanul Headquarters, said, "We will spare no effort to support various ways to increase the income of farmers in the vicinity of the power plant and revitalize the local economy," adding, "Hanul Headquarters will continue to do its best to be a reliable partner for local residents based on trust and coexistence."
