Kim Do-sik, Nominee for Deputy Mayor for Political Affairs of Seoul Metropolitan Government
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Seoul City announced on the 16th that it has nominated Kim Do-sik, Chief Secretary to the Party Leader of the People’s Party, as the new Deputy Mayor for Political Affairs who will work closely with Mayor Oh Se-hoon to lead Seoul’s administration.
The Deputy Mayor for Political Affairs of Seoul assists the mayor by coordinating and negotiating Seoul City’s affairs with the National Assembly, the City Council, the media, and political parties. This position is a vice-ministerial political official appointed by the mayor.
Kim Do-sik, the nominee for Deputy Mayor for Political Affairs, graduated from Myongji University with a degree in Political Science and Diplomacy. He currently serves as Chief Secretary to the Party Leader of the People’s Party and is also an adjunct professor in the Department of Cultural Contents at Dongguk University Graduate School.
Known for his proactive work approach and excellent communication skills, Kim will be responsible for spokesperson duties, citizen communication planning, human rights affairs, cooperation with the National Assembly and City Council, and matters related to political parties.
The new Deputy Mayor for Political Affairs is expected to be officially appointed in April after undergoing background checks and other appointment procedures.
