“Bringing Laughter and Hope to Neighbors in Need” Aqua Pet Land Co., Ltd. Holds Rice Sharing Event of Love

‘Aquapetland,’ the largest ornamental fish theme park mall in Korea, is about to begin construction and has prepared a ceremony to deliver sponsorship goods for coexistence with the local community.

According to Aquapetland Co., Ltd., the ‘Aquapetland Siheung City 1% Welfare Foundation Sponsorship Goods Delivery Ceremony,’ hosted by the Siheung City 1% Welfare Foundation and sponsored by Aquapetland Co., Ltd., was held on Thursday, April 15, at the ‘Aquapetland’ promotional center located in Jeongwang-dong, Siheung City, Gyeonggi Province.

Attendees at the delivery ceremony included Shim Hong-seok, CEO of Aquapetland Co., Ltd., Yoon Jin-cheol, Siheung City Future Strategy Officer, and Cheon Suk-hyang, Secretary General of the Siheung City 1% Welfare Foundation. Through the event, Aquapetland Co., Ltd. delivered 300 bags (totaling 3,000 kg) of ‘Haettomi’ rice produced within Siheung City to the Siheung City 1% Welfare Foundation. The sponsorship goods will be individually delivered to each district administrative welfare center.

CEO Shim Hong-seok stated, “While establishing ‘Aquapetland,’ the largest ornamental fish distribution complex in Korea and the first of its kind domestically, we planned this sponsorship goods delivery event to contribute to the local community of Siheung City, Gyeonggi Province, where the distribution complex will be located.” He added, “We will do our best not only to support this rice sponsorship but also to contribute warm affection to Siheung City through the development of Aquapetland and further contribute to regional development.”

Meanwhile, Daesin Asset Trust (developer) and Shinsegae Construction (builder) will launch sales of the ‘Aquapetland’ complex shopping mall in the Siheung City area of Gyeonggi Province in April. It will be developed on a scale of 63,562㎡ (planned), from basement level 1 to the 5th floor above ground. ‘Aquapetland’ is a 4th generation complex shopping mall with an ornamental fish theme park concept, designed as a mall-type complex shopping center with entertainment added and a commercial facility incorporating experiential community features. As a result, it is expected to establish itself as a new trend complex shopping mall that integrates a culture where visitors experience and enjoy their time like at a tourist destination, rather than a place for simple consumption.

Aquapetland has designed specialized features to revitalize the commercial district. On the first floor above ground, an aquapet facility zone will be created to exhibit and sell rare ornamental fish and specialized species from around the world, providing enjoyment to visitors. Additionally, from the 2nd to the 5th floors above ground, various experiential facilities and attractions will be introduced. In this way, Aquapetland will be born as a theme park mall offering more attractions and experiences than a typical aquarium, and it is expected to attract approximately 1.5 million visitors annually.

Furthermore, within a 3 km radius of Aquapetland, there are about 14,000 households either residing or planned to reside. The number of workers in Siwha MTV (Siwha Multi Techno Valley) is estimated to be about 250,000, providing a rich base demand.

In addition, plans are underway to further develop marine life experience centers, aquapet theme parks, and convention centers around the ‘Aquapetland’ area, linking with nearby Oido Marine Complex, Wolgot Port, and Siwha Embankment, raising expectations for its rebirth as a representative tourist complex of Gyeonggi Province.
