Sequential Distribution of Living Support Funds by Benefit Type to Low-Income Vulnerable Groups Starting from the 14th
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) is cooperating with Seoul City to provide a total of 2 billion KRW in living support funds to low-income vulnerable groups in the region as part of livelihood measures amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The support targets are basic livelihood security recipients (national type, Seoul type), near-poverty groups (disability, self-support, personal burden reduction, class verification), and legally single-parent households (near-poverty criteria) who are receiving benefits as of March 26, 2021, or applicants before the reference date who have been deemed eligible for benefits.
The project period is three months from April to June. Without a separate application, the district office confirms the low-income qualification as of the support reference date and provides 100,000 KRW per household member, paid to the household representative's account or the household member's general account.
On April 14, the district paid living support funds to about 17,000 recipients who were already receiving regular benefits (livelihood and housing benefits, near-poverty disabled, near-poverty self-support, legally single-parent families) in the first round.
For other eligible recipients, the second payment is planned for May 14.
Park Seong-su, Mayor of Songpa-gu, stated, “We hope that by providing living support funds to marginalized low-income residents, this will be an opportunity to overcome the difficulties of the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic together.”
