Hwasun-gun Begins Pfizer Vaccine Administration for Residents Aged 75 and Older

[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Ji-woon] Jeonnam Hwasun-gun (Governor Gu Chung-gon) announced on the 15th that it has started administering the ‘Pfizer vaccine’ to residents aged 75 and older at the COVID-19 vaccination center.

The vaccination process consists of five stages: registration, medical questionnaire completion, medical examination, vaccination, and adverse reaction observation.

The county plans to complete the first dose vaccination for residents aged 75 and older within next month, starting with 600 residents on the day, administering vaccines to 3,884 people this month and 3,068 people next month.

Nine shuttle buses operate between the towns and the vaccination center to provide convenient transportation for vaccinated residents, and a close cooperation system with administrative welfare centers is established to manage vaccination targets, support vaccinated individuals’ transportation, and monitor post-vaccination care.

Additionally, response teams are formed in each town and township to handle each stage, including prior consent procedures, individual vaccination schedule notifications via phone calls (3 days and 1 day before vaccination), text messages, village broadcasts, shuttle bus operations, and monitoring of adverse reactions after vaccination.

In particular, a village monitoring team of about 450 people is organized to intensively observe vaccinated individuals for five days post-vaccination to promptly respond to any adverse reactions.

Governor Gu Chung-gon said, “Vaccination is the first step in the long journey to overcome COVID-19 and restore our precious daily lives and local economy, and achieving herd immunity is essential for this. I ask all residents to actively participate in vaccination.”

He added, “We will focus all administrative efforts to carefully oversee every stage from transportation support to vaccination and post-vaccination adverse reactions to ensure residents can be vaccinated safely and comfortably. Given the concerning spread of COVID-19, please strictly follow personal hygiene rules and facility-specific quarantine guidelines.”
