Open Recruitment for Up to 28 Students from 4th Grade Elementary to 1st Year High School Until the 13th of Next Month
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 15th that it will publicly recruit new members of the Suncheon City Children’s Choir, who possess basic musical knowledge and performance skills, by the 13th of next month to promote the development of the city-run children’s choir.
The city-run children’s choir was founded in 1987 and has strengthened the choir’s capabilities through various performances such as regular concerts and exchange performances, while encouraging the interest of Suncheon citizens in culture and the arts.
The city plans to recruit up to 28 members (12 sopranos, 10 mezzo-sopranos, 6 altos) to fill vacancies, and any students residing in the city from 4th grade in elementary school to 1st grade in high school are eligible to participate.
Application forms can be downloaded from the city or Suncheon Culture and Arts Center websites, and applications can be submitted by visiting the Suncheon Culture and Arts Center or by registered mail from the 3rd to the 13th of next month. The practical and interview exams, including one designated song and one free-choice song, will be held around 2 p.m. on the 22nd of next month.
If applicants demonstrate special skills such as acting or dancing for musicals, additional points may be awarded.
The successful candidates will be announced on the 27th of next month.
Once appointed as members of the children’s choir, they will have opportunities to perform in regular concerts and various nationwide invitation performances, and depending on their grade level, they will receive music activity incentives and transportation expenses.
