Regional Nonghyup, Shipping Organizations, and Wholesale Market Corporations Can Also Cooperate in Shipper Registration Reporting
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Seoul Agro-Fisheries & Food Corporation (President Kim Kyung-ho) announced that it has simplified the shipper registration website by omitting the mobile phone authentication process when registering shippers at Garak Market through the corporation's homepage, making shipper registration much more convenient.
Until now, the mobile phone authentication process was criticized for making shipper registration difficult for those who have difficulty using mobile phones, non-users of mobile phones, users of mobile phones registered under others' names (such as family members), and elderly shippers.
Additionally, complaints have been continuously raised that even when local agricultural cooperatives or shipping organizations try to assist their members or affiliates with shipper registration, it is difficult to help due to the mobile phone identity verification process.
The corporation emphasized that these issues will disappear with the omission of mobile phone text message authentication.
Now, shipper registration is possible anywhere a computer is installed. Therefore, if the shipper is elderly or has difficulty using a computer and cannot enter the information themselves, the local agricultural cooperative or shipping organization registered as a member can actively assist with shipper registration.
The corporation requested that these institutions, including local agricultural cooperatives, shipping organizations, and wholesale market corporations entrusted with agricultural products, actively assist shippers who have difficulty with shipper registration, as they can help on-site.
Since early this year, to improve fairness and transparency in transactions, based on Article 30 (Shipper Registration) of the Act on the Distribution and Price Stabilization of Agricultural and Fishery Products (hereinafter referred to as the Agricultural Products Act), those who ship agricultural products to Garak Market are required to register as shippers.
In the case of unregistered shipments, if the shipper does not register within the grace period for shipper registration (5 days from the shipping date), the wholesale market corporation will refuse to accept the agricultural products thereafter.
