[Asia Economy Reporter Junhyung Lee] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 14th that 23 projects were selected as the '2020 3rd Public Procurement Win-Win Cooperation Support Targets.' The 23 win-win cooperation products selected this time will receive support to enter the public procurement market.
The public procurement win-win cooperation support system is a program promoted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups since last year. It supports the entry of small and medium-sized enterprises' products into the public procurement market through win-win cooperation between large corporations and SMEs.
As a result of receiving applications for win-win cooperation products through the 3rd recruitment announcement last year, 64 projects applied. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups conducted face-to-face and on-site evaluations and a review committee for the applied projects and finally selected 23 projects.
Among the selected projects, 12 innovative growth projects involve win-win cooperation between small enterprises with technological capabilities but insufficient production capacity and partner companies; 8 material and component projects involve win-win cooperation with large corporations producing materials and components to improve product quality and innovation; and 3 technology convergence projects involve delivering new convergence products to the public procurement market by utilizing the advantages of different items.
Shinseong Turbomaster, selected as an innovative growth project, holds patents related to underwater pumps and centrifugal pumps. They aimed to produce underwater pumps for sewage and wastewater without clogging but faced difficulties supplying to public institutions due to lack of production facilities. Recently, Shinseong Turbomaster signed a win-win cooperation agreement with Gangwoon Tech, which has direct production facilities for pumps, and was also selected as a public procurement win-win cooperation support target. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups expects Shinseong Turbomaster to contribute to the localization of underwater pumps, which currently have a high import dependency, by supplying underwater pumps to public institutions.
Hyundai Livart was selected as a cooperating large corporation supplying materials and components to SMEs. According to the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, Hyundai Livart supports SME growth by promoting a new type of win-win cooperation in which it subcontracts part of contracts from SMEs.
Hyundai Livart supplies 'modular desks' without wires to partner SMEs. SMEs can apply the company's technology certifications and patents to the modular desks to produce desks with new functions and forms. Additionally, it is expected that performance and quality can be improved through the large corporation's systematic quality control and after-sales management.
No Yong-seok, Director of Global Growth Policy at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, said, "We hope that the 23 products selected this time will expand the range of win-win cooperation products that public institutions can purchase."
