One Unidentified Infection Case Confirmed in Gwangju... Cumulative Total Reaches 2,253

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] One additional COVID-19 case has been confirmed in Gwangju.

According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 14th, one new COVID-19 case was confirmed, classified as case number 2253.

Case 2253 is a resident of Dong-gu, and the route of infection has not yet been identified.

Meanwhile, regarding case number 1894 from Songpa-gu, Seoul, who is presumed to be the index patient in the infection chain recently occurring in the Gwangju area, a total of 13 cases have been confirmed so far. This includes 6 family members, 6 acquaintances, and 1 other person related to case 1894 in Songpa-gu.

A total of 568 people have undergone diagnostic testing, and currently 20 are awaiting test results.

The quarantine authorities have classified 138 people under self-quarantine, 53 under active monitoring, and 137 under passive monitoring, along with on-site evaluations.

In case of additional patients, in-depth epidemiological investigations such as CCTV and GPS analysis will be conducted to reclassify contacts.
