[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] The Seoul Business Agency (CEO Jang Youngseung) announced on the 14th that it will hold 'SETEC Choice,' an excellent and promising exhibition newly discovered and supported at SETEC to revitalize the exhibition industry, which has been stagnant due to COVID-19.
SETEC Choice will support one exhibition per month from April to August, totaling six exhibitions. Earlier, SBA selected 'SETEC Choice' early through the regular rental recruitment announcement for the SETEC exhibition hall in July last year to revitalize the exhibition industry struggling due to COVID-19 and to support the efficient operation of exhibition and convention centers.
As the offline-based exhibition industry crisis continues due to social distancing measures for COVID-19, the excellent and promising exhibitions selected as SETEC Choice this year plan to pilot operate by linking differentiated hybrid exhibition live broadcasts and live commerce.
SETEC Choice is a specialized exhibition incubating program unique to SETEC. The Seoul Business Agency explained that it is a campaign to promote SETEC's specialized exhibition incubating program aimed at revitalizing the exhibition industry by supporting the business activities of new exhibition organizers or small and medium-sized enterprises participating in exhibitions.
The first SETEC Choice will start with the Seoul Cafe & Bakery Fair in April, followed by SETEC Mega Show Season 1, My Diet Fair in May, Korea Organizing & Space Design Expo in June, Vegan Festa in July, and SETEC Mega Show Season 2 in August.
A representative from the Seoul Business Agency said, "It is a time when the exhibition industry in the post-COVID era needs to expand into the online market," adding, "In line with this, SETEC plans to operate some exhibitions with differentiated exhibition services by linking online and offline exhibition live broadcasts and live commerce."
