[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] Bloomberg reported on the 13th (local time) that Apple will hold its first new product launch event of the year on the 20th (local time).
At the event, Apple is expected to unveil the new iPad Pro. There are also prospects that the location tracker AirTag and the new iMac may be revealed.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Apple has been conducting new product launch events online. This event will be the fifth online new product launch event.
The new iPad Pro is expected to be released in the same 11-inch and 12.9-inch models as the current versions. It is anticipated to be equipped with the A14X chip based on Apple's custom-designed M1 processor.
Thanks to COVID-19, Apple's iPad sales have increased significantly. In the fourth quarter of last year, iPad sales reached $8.4 billion, the highest since 2014.
Apple also plans to hold its second developer conference conducted online in early June, following last year's event.
