Positive Response from Emotional Workers through Psychological and Labor Counseling, and Operation of Psychological Healing Programs
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] In March last year, Gyeongsangnam-do established the 'Emotional Laborers' Rights Protection Center,' the second of its kind among metropolitan local governments, to improve the rights and protect the interests of emotional laborers. The center has established itself as a central institution for protecting the rights of emotional laborers.
The Rights Protection Center, located on the 6th floor of Hansarang Building in Sangnam-dong, Changwon City, provides programs for damage prevention and psychological treatment targeting emotional laborers.
Equipped with counseling rooms and training rooms, the center's director and four team members conduct counseling from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays.
On Wednesdays and Fridays, nighttime counseling is also available until 9 p.m.
Over the past year, the center has provided services including 11 sessions of labor rights and rights protection education, 17 sessions of gender sensitivity education, and 397 sessions of psychological and labor counseling.
Kim Jaewon, Director of the Labor Policy Division of Gyeongnam Province, said, "We hope that through the center, more emotional laborers can recover from the mental damage and stress experienced during customer service through counseling and healing services."
