Minimum Morning Temperature of 5°C for Tomorrow and the Day After
Prepare for Crop Frost Damage Due to Frost Phenomena
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Morning temperatures will drop significantly on the 14th and 15th, so commuters should prepare thicker outerwear than usual.
On the 13th, the Korea Meteorological Administration forecasted that the nationwide morning low temperatures between dawn and morning on the 14th and 15th will fall below 5 degrees Celsius, and in inland areas, temperatures will drop below 0 degrees Celsius, more than 10 degrees lower than today.
As of 10 a.m. on the same day, the Meteorological Administration issued a cold wave advisory. A cold wave watch will be in effect from 10 p.m. in the Gyeonggi, Gangwon, Chungcheong, Jeonbuk, and Gyeongbuk regions.
The morning low temperature on the 14th is expected to range from -1 to 7 degrees Celsius, with daytime highs between 12 and 18 degrees Celsius. On the 15th, morning lows are forecasted at 0 to 8 degrees Celsius, and daytime highs at 15 to 19 degrees Celsius.
From tonight through tomorrow morning, the gap between the high-pressure system (left) and low-pressure system (right) over Korea will gradually narrow, causing stronger winds and more active inflow of cold air, resulting in a significant drop in the perceived temperature.
The Meteorological Administration urged, "With temperatures dropping sharply from the previously mild weather and strong winds added, the perceived temperature will be very low. Special care should be taken for health management, including respiratory diseases and weakened immunity caused by rapid temperature changes."
Frost is expected in inland areas, and there is a high possibility of cold damage to crops, so preemptive measures such as insulation are necessary.
